Sunday Morning PFW B Bike Ride: 49.2
It was around 45 degrees when the ride departed at 9 AM. Only had one rider show up, and he hasn’t joined the club just yet. I had ridden with him two saturdays ago on the Ed Post B+ ride out of Cranbury. That was his first club ride he’d ridden I found out today. Anyway, Alex did a very good job keeping me honest. He liked to keep the chain on the big ring as much as possible. As a result, he pushed the pace early on. Our average pace for the 50 miles was just under 16 mph, and it was a pretty hilly and windy ride. I was toast going into Long Hill Road. Alex had to wait for me at the top. And from there on to the end I was not very responsive on the hills, but I did manage to take them on. CLICK HERE to see a map of the loop we rode.
The interesting thing about today’s ride was Alex told me he had downloaded my route to his bike computer. So during the ride he knew when I was going to say left, and when I was going to say right. Almost made me feel as though I wasn’t needed, especially on the last couple of hills. But Alex said he had a good time and a good ride.
