Sunday Morning Ad-Hoc Group Bike Ride: 69 miles

5 county bike ride: Mercer, Bucks, Hunterdon, Somerset, and Middlesex. What a beautiful morning for a bike ride. Andrew T had emailed me earlier this week and indicated he wanted to do a 50 to 65 mile ride on Sunday. Said he’d probably be able to get Larry H out for the ride, and maybe a few others. So I agreed to plan the route and we’d leave at 8 AM from the usual place – Community Park North in Princeton. Turns out we had 4 on the ride: Me, Andrew, Larry, and Paul. We headed over to Pennsylvania to do the Eagle Road hill before descending down into New Hope for a rest stop at the Starbucks there. I chose the easiest climb out of Lambertville and we lost Paul a little before getting to Rileyville Road. Paul had said he was toast and that we should go on without him. He knew the way back. The rest of us kept going until Larry dropped off on Mt Lucas to head home. Andrew still had his metric century to hit so he and I kept going over to Kingston and around to West Windsor before he dropped off to watch some cheerleaders on Washington Road. I headed on home. We all had a good ride. CLICK HERE to see the route.

Below are two photos that Andrew took of us on the ride outside Starbucks in the heart of New Hope, PA. Too bad we couldn’t get Andrew in the photo, too.
