Saturday Morning Group Ride: 41 miles

Saturday Morning Group Ride: 41 miles

John Danek and his wife Jane lead the towpath ride today. We had a pretty good turnout: 12. Not a particularly fast ride, but I had fun. Just for the record, I wasn’t expecting a fast ride – I got what I expected. We rode down the towpath past Province Line Road and then over to Lawrenceville. Eventually we made our way to downtown Hopewell for a stop at Boro Bean. Then a speedy ride up Route 518 back to the towpath in Rocky Hill. The temp was unseasonably warm, and there was no wind. A little more sun would have been nice, but I didn’t really miss it. CLICK HERE to see the route. Larry H, John W, and Doug M were also present.

Very nice! Did you learn any tips for your towpath rides?

Oh yes. Of course! Probably the most important one is that slower riders will feel comfortable to show up for an off-road ride, but probably not be able to handle a solid pace for more than 25 miles. The 35-mile length of today’s ride was a little long for a few on the ride.
