And you guessed it, the BMI test that rates people as normal weight or overweight or underweight gets criticized.
The criticism in a nutshell is that BMI has a tough time categorizing a person who is just a little overweight because those people often times are active people who have significant muscle mass rather than extra fat on their bodies. BMI does not take into consideration active people who have extra weight because they have extra muscle on their bodies. Muscle weighs more than fat.
