Sunday Afternoon PFW B Bike Ride: 27 miles

Sunday Afternoon PFW B Bike Ride: 27 miles

It was clear and sunny at 1:11 PM today. Just 4 minutes away from the scheduled departure time for the club ride I was offering to lead. I figured it was going to be another day of no takers. But just as I was about to give up hope, up the road came Rick W on his new Cannondale. It was around 30 degrees out and there was something of a wind blowing. But nothing too brisk. Rick was all bundled up. I had no intentions of putting that much stuff on when I got dressed to ride. I told him I’d be ready to ride in 8 to 10 minutes. So we departed from my house about 10 minutes later. He wanted to keep the ride flat and simple. So I devised one to satisfy him. CLICK HERE to see the route.

I was on my old track bike as usual. I haven’t ridden all week. I have done some walking on the treadmill and swum somewhat regularly. A few days my neck allowed me to actually finish the mile in the pool I set out to do. But the other days I only got 50 laps in or so. The weather has been very cold since Wednesday. Not bike riding weather at all. I thought yesterday would have been a great day for a group ride on the tow path. But there were no takers. It was cold. I had no desire to go for a bike ride alone in the cold yesterday. But I would have braved the elements if someone had showed up to ride. My club ride today was the fourth one I have lead this month/year. Just 6 more to go and I’m officially a club ride leader for the second year in a row.
