Wednesday Morning Group Bike Ride: 15 miles
Today was a nice day for a late morning bike ride. It was clear and sunny outside, and the temp was around freezing but warmed up to the low 40s by noon. Andrew T and I met in Princeton, and I drove us over to Washington Crossing for a towpath ride up to Lambertville and back. We went up the NJ side and returned on the PA side. The ground was a little soft. As a result, the ride was kind of muddy. By the end of the ride, some 90 minutes after we started, we were quite muddy, as were our bikes. But neither of us was cold or feeling bad. CLICK HERE to see a map of the route.
Below are some pictures that Andrew T took while we were out. Pictures 1 and 5 are the same except one has been tinkered with to make it look like a drawing. All the pictures were taken on the Pennsylvania stretch of towpath. We were quite wet and muddy by that time. I’ve done this trip numerous times. This was the first time for Andrew.
Even though the ride was short if you consider the miles travelled, I felt it was a very good workout for this time of year. Soggy ground does not allow for much coasting. Not sure how many people do 90 minutes on a trainer. I know I don’t bother.
