Thursday Morning Solo Bike Ride: 32 miles
This morning I went to my club as usual and began my workout with 20 minutes on the stair climber at setting 9 and maintaining 130 to 140 reps per minute. Then I mosied into the pool area where the lap pool was a nice cool 80 degrees. I did 20 laps of stroke and 30 laps of kick. As I left the club to get into my car I noticed the air temp outside was pretty nice, and it looked like the sun was going to come out. So I got it into my head to go for a bike ride this morning that would include some elevation gain. Originally I designed a route that would have been 44 miles. CLICK HERE to see. But when I actually got out to do the loop I wimped out and cut it down to a manageable 30 miles or so. CLICK HERE to see. I didn’t ride my track bike this time. Instead I pumped up the limp tires on my Dahon Speed P8 and spun along in 6th and 7th gears mostly. The 20″ wheel folding bike did pretty well. I think the average pace was somewhere around 14.6 mph. I’ll take that considering I haven’t been riding much at all for several months now, and there was some wind involved.
