Wednesday Afternoon Indoor Trainer Ride: 18.3 miles
I swam and ran this morning. This afternoon I needed a bike ride, but it was raining pretty good outside. I decided to strap my Cinelli into my indoor trainer machine and try to burn at least 500 KJ so I could get back on track with my diet. The rule I was following was ride until I hit 500 KJ or 20 miles. I hit the calories burned stat first, but just barely. CLICK HERE to see the upload to MapMyRide. The ride lasted for an hour, and 45 minutes of it was in the active recovery zone. Ouch! I’m still not comfortable doing steady-state efforts on a trainer (as opposed to outdoor riding). I’m not much of a timetrialist at present. I was sweating like a pig!! It’s going to take some time to adapt. My avg speed was 18.2 mph and the avg cadence was 92. I was riding in the middle chainring much of the ride.
