Saturday Morning Solo Ride: 65 miles
This blog post represents a short and quick recap of the first half of my 130-mile towpath ride this morning from Washington, DC along the Potomac River. I parked my car along the towpath where Canal Road and Reservoir Road intersect in DC just north of the Georgetown area. About 1.8 miles after departing on the ride I entered the State of Maryland in which I stayed all the way to the turnaround at mile 65. This was a nonstop ride. There was no place to stop even if I wanted to do so. For the first 57.3 miles of the ride the State of Virginia was situated across the Potomac from me. From mile 57.3 until mile 65 the State of West Virginia was situated across the Potomac from me. CLICK HERE to see the route.
