Why Do “Brick” Workouts

CLICK HERE to read a pretty good article on the subject.

Do you limit your workouts to just one sport, i.e., just running, just cycling, or just swimming? If so, then you probably don’t do “brick” workouts. A Brick Workout is when the athlete during training mixes up sports, i.e., he does a bike workout immediately followed by a run workout, or a swim workout immediately followed by a bike workout. The reason the term “brick” is used is that the athlete is stacking his sport workouts one on the other the same way a bricklayer will stack bricks on bricks.

Stacking different types of workouts within a single workout can really put significant stress on the body. And what is training all about without stress? Not much!
