The Skinny on Intermittent Fasting

Fed state vs Unfed state. Fasting gets you to the unfed state and the minimal presence of insulin in your bloodstream. This is when you can burn stored body fat. Being in the unfed state is not the same thing as being in starvation mode. Starvation mode exists when you are in a “partially fed” state which is also known as a “calorie restricted diet.”
