Thursday Morning Solo RUSA Ride

Thursday Morning Solo RUSA Ride

It’s been two days since I was out on the bike. Today was a pretty nice one for a bike ride. Roads were a little damp when I departed early this morning on the Cinelli. Had to test ride it for my big ride coming up on Saturday. Rode well. I’m pleased.

Temp was around 70 when I departed. There were some clouds in the sky. But the sun came out soon enough. By the end of the ride it had gotten quite warm. There was a headwind coming from the West. I did not appreciate it much. But it was not a killer.

This ride got me up to 6400 km for the year as far as RUSA goes. That translates into 3600 km to go to achieve the K-Hound Award. Not that I’m crazy about getting the award. But since this is my last year doing a whole lot of this RUSA stuff I might as well get that award while I’m at it. Hopefully I’ll have all the miles neatly packed away by the end of July. It’s looking like that is going to happen since 1400 km of those 3600 will be by-by on June 8 (400) and June 20 (1000).
