Saturday RUSA Calendar-Ride
Today I attended the PA Rando 200k event for the month of September. I’ve only done one other 200k event this year. It was back in late March. And I did it up in Providence, RI. My favor for 200k rides has dissipated over the past two years. I do them occasionally. But I don’t enjoy them.
Today’s ride started at 7AM, and departed from the Dunkin Donuts in Portland, PA. We had a nice crowd of riders show up. Except for two speedy guys, the pace was very reasonable for me to have an enjoyable day in the hills of upstate NJ. I’d say I rode the event by myself about half and half. Interestingly I finished about a minute ahead of 4 or 5 riders. Some of whom I rode with a bit during the day, and some not.
The weather was just awesome. Couldn’t have been a nicer day for a bike ride. It got a little windy in the middle of the day. But, all in all, it was just a great day for a bike ride. I was riding my Cinelli. And I did very little prep and/or studying of the course before tackling this one. Had a great day.
